frag tank setup

:lolspin:I have been working on a frag tank and I am close to starting to put rock in the fuge. I plan on seeding dry base rock with my live rock. Have any of you ever bought any base rock off the internet, if so where and how was the quality? I feel like it will be 4 to 6 months before I am using it for fragging. Still got to have a light and skimmer I will have to sneak that purchase in very quietly or I may be in trouble with my wife she thinks I spend too much on reefing, but what fun it is.

IMO Marcorock has the best dry rock on the market. Alot of people use his rock. Ive seen it at shows but never needed any but planning on upgraged soon and will be using his rock

I saw some Mike.Dani had that looked pretty good. I think it was Marco.

The dry base I got is from Marco rocks and I like it very much so. If you look at his feedback you will find the only regrets most people have is not getting more.

Are you putting the rocks into your sump like you mentioned above or in your frag tank? I may be mistaken, but I think calcite base rocks or reef bone type rocks are much cheaper than Marco rocks (at least up here). Marco rocks are great for a display tank because of their pretty shapes, but do you really care how they look like if they are to be in your sump?

for this project I don't care what thwy look like but I am going to be setting up a seahorse tank for my wife so then I will care.

I have bought rock from liverockusa thru ebay (keysliverock) and also Marco rocks. Both were base rock and Marco is by far my choice. The rock from liverockusa was good but was truely more of a base rock and not as nice for the display tank.
