Frag tank setup

Giovanni

AKA Flippa
I got this frag tank (Angela) and light (Chase) at the frag swap. Thought you all might like to see who it is set up. I have it on two book shelf brackets over my sump. I put an overflow via bulkhead that runs straight down tubing to my sump. I sliced a small hole in my display tank return pump tubing and forced a piece of 3/8 hard tubing in. No it does not leak. If it does start to leak, it is already in my sump. I hooked some small very flexible tubing to that and ran it to the frag tank with some Lock line at the end. I pinch the return tubing with a cloths pin to regulate flow. I then purchased some of those new Hydor Koralia 1 pumps (400gph each). A little egg crate and I am in business. I have less than $150 total in this and it has turned out to be one of the best projects yet. No more lost, broke or stung frags from falling over. No need for water changes heaters or any extra hassle. I got this tiny purple banzai frag from gflat that would have never made it in my display. That thing is growing like a weed being that close under the 175 20K MH. I also think the flow provided by those $27.99 pumps helps also. Thanks to all for a great frag swap. Hope to see you soon.

Nice, wish I would had picked up one of those frag tanks from glass cages they brought to the swap.

I think they have them for $18.oo new. I paid $10 so not that much difference. Come to think of it, I thought they were going to be a the swap??

I picked up those pumps from Foster and Smith this week and I see they have raised the price from $27 to $37 and out of stock. That is the pitts.

Thanks. It will be a great asset to my system. Thanks for selling it to me.
