Frag time?

This brain coral has been slowly dying from the bottom up. It's positioned near the bottom of the tank. I do have a

phosphate problem (0.8 currently) not sure of the cause. Should I try to cut it at the dead area and place in another area?

What are your other water parameters? How's your alkalinity?

Possibly getting stung. I have a War Coral that was getting stung by an over hanging Frogspawn and started to recede. Pried him off the rock and relocated it, now it's growing back over the dead portions.

Are those areas being shaded at all? You might want to place the coral flat on the sand bed and hopefully the tissue will grow back.

It would seem those palys are irritating it. Have you tried relocating it?

You could also try sealing the edge with superglue. If it's an infection of some sort.
