fragfest '06 in monroe june 3rd

I am in the same boat.

I really want to go to the one in Bloomfield Hills on the Sunday following. I can't though because of my brother's graduation party.

If so I apologize but this thread is out of hand! These two clubs could work togather and not deminish what they alone are doing. And make more things happen in this area it could be a good thing if all is not lost allready because of petty fighting. I ment no harm by posting the information about the swap. Just wanted to help others that may have a hard time finding information on it. Just my opinion but maybe both clubs should take a look at how some people are conducting there self on this thread. And think about having a meeting about how things should be handled on the public forums! Ill tell you this dosent make eather club look good too me!

I agree with you and I stand by any of my comments. When someone, especially a leader of an entire organization, starts bashing a whole club on public forums I refuse to let it go unanswered. Especially when it is for no reason at all. I am out spoken in that regard. As for working together, by it's comments, TRAC leadership has demonstrated its contempt for NORA in general and NORA Officers. It's kinda hard to say OK we are all buddies now.

I'm sorry that NORA has become a conglomerate of greed...

...make a profit off memberships for your own personal gain.

Personally I'm ashamed as a saltwater hobbiest to see the actions that NORA's senior officers display.

Thanks,

it's funny that you are complaining about NORA posting info on our own site. why? you aren't a member of NORA, so why do you care? what we do or don't post on our own site is our business. BTW I am a member of NORA and have never paid a cent in dues or other money for that matter, yet I could look up the info on the site in 2 seconds, you are just basically too lazy to fill out the registration process.

yeah, like others have said, there is a reason I am a NORA member not a TRAC member, despite being equally close to either one.

also, news flash, the reason all ours posts for the club are on our new site instead of RC is exactly stuff like this...I for one got sick of pointless crap and mods and non-NORA members constantly picking crap in a our CLUB forum. you don't like us, our club, well there's the door, it may be RC's site but it's our club, and boy am I glad you ain't in it. immature of me, probably, I don't care, my two cents

Let's all stand up, hold hands and sing:

Kumba Ya My Lord Kumba Ya
Kumba Ya My Lord Kumba Ya
Kumba Ya My Lord Kumba Ya
Ohhh Lord Kumba Ya

Now, Take a deep breath. In through the nose, out through the mouth. :) Don't you all feel better now:D Just trying to spread a little peace and love! No, I am not a child of the 70s, but I am a child of God! Everyone have a good day and take a chill pill. I think we need to put our lives in perspective a little bit. We are talking about a reef aquarium HOBBY! In my opinion, there is no reason this should ever get this serious. Lets all just swallow our pride and move on. Just wanted to lighten things up a little. My 2 cents...

Fred will you be my friend?

Of course! Why would you even ask? I have no beef with you nor anyone else. Besides, how could I resist that puppy dog avatar:D

Pertaining to this thread, I will probably not be going to the swap. Mainly cuz I can't afford it:(

Aquaman, I apologize whole heartedly to you, it appears today that I have found out rather late that the club has gone pay and I simply failed to notice, so I think I owe you a very sincere you were right. I for one agree with you that reef clubs should be about exchanging info and not just for those who can afford to shell out some more cash

Adam - be patient. We are making some paid member areas only as a benefit for the fully paid members, we are not intending to hide everything. We have encountered some hick-ups that we need to clear up.

Thats OK Adam. Just be patient with them as Jen has said. I'm not sure that they really know what they want to lock down and what they don't. I just wanted my point to be heard and to get the information I was looking for. There's no hard feelings. I just enjoy what RC model is to have the flow of free education to the reefing community. We can only hope that NORA in the end sees the value of free trading education.

Thanks for the apology.

The following forums have been opened up to the public (registered users):

1) Livestock
2) For Sale / Trade
3) Off Topic
4) Group buys

There are two that we plan to keep as private. Club discussion and Club Frag Tank.

The Club Discussion will be reserved for club future plans, voting etc.

The Frag Tank will probably need to be supported by the club dues, so therefore it will probably remain in the paid only forum. Exceptions to non-paying members that can access the frag tank may be made on a case-by-case basis. For example ICU2, bigdaddyadam, Weimers75, Andrew etc. We just do not want some stranger to come in and take our frags that we have donated to the tank.

I think that this needs a new thread...... Sorry for the hi-jack.

what frags are you bringing? will list some of mine in the next couple days, plus clean up crews i will be bringing

I am not sure if I am going. I'd only be able to bring a few frags though.

I have the following that I could share:
Orange montipora digitata
Zombie eye (red zoas)
Pink and green frilly mushroom
Pink starburst zoas

I'll have to check on others.

Scott,

I am requesting that you please keep these kind of comments to yourself and drop this whole topic. You said that I was shooting off insults of TRAC when I said that my impression of TRAC was that it was a dead club. I see these comments as the very same type of comment that I made. You pointed out that I did not know what I was talking about because stuff was going on behind the scenes. Perhaps, you are not aware of what is going on behind the scenes here either. Shooting insults off at NORA is not a good way to ask for information.

Stating that we don't know what we want and what we don't could not be further from the truth. We had some hick-ups with the website this morning as we made some changes. Please leave it at that, OK?

We know the direction that we are going and we are doing our best to communicate with our members and listen to what they want. We will make changes as the need arises. Flexibility is of the essence when starting a club such as this.

We do see the value of trading information. We have been doing this and will continue on trading information. I am an active premium member and moderator on MASO and an active member on WORC. We have others active in CORA and C-SEA. Just because we do not choose to use RC as our main forum does not mean that we will not exchange information freely amoung ourselves and other clubs.

Please stop this nonsense, as it is water under the dam. Let's please move forward from this point, OK? If we can not, I will have to ask the RC mods to lock this thread.

Jen this was dropped two days ago.. I was just saying thanks to Adam for appologizing and agreeing with what you posted before. I'm glad you are listening to those in your reefing community. I'm done with this topic as things as have things been resolved with NORA's Club Forums. Sometimes a little post about whats going on is what you need to get a little eye opener. I just asked for information and it was told to me to go get it at NORA Member Only section on your website out the TRAC Forum and after reading that the Member only section was going to be locked to paying members only I responded to it. I also got some nice remarks from yourself an Selgado before an argument arose.

Thank-you Jen since I saw you took a proactive approach to getting the forums open back up on the NORA site. From what the Terrible 3 were attempting to do. I have since moved on.

Thanks,
-Scott

Scott,

Again Please stop.

You were pointed to a thread that was for registered users, not payed users as you state. You know this as well as I do. You are welcome to look at the free information on our site because we are using it as our main forum. The information will continue to be posted there and may not make it here on RC.

We had some glitches today - and had to rearrange our forums to accomodate the change. no "eye opener" was needed from you two days ago or even now. Our club was neither broken nor did you fix it.

And thank you for calling me one of the "terrible 3". None of us are terrible and we have no intention of being that way. You took a joke on our own forum completely out of context.

Jen

I challenge you to produce the "nice" remarks that caused you to open fire with the childish remarks about NORA and it's officers.

The "terrible 3" is the pet name for the 3 officers in our forum. By using this term, it was taken out of context and therfore it did apply to me. Be careful using the pet names that you see in our forums, especially if you are not a regular member, most likely you will be misusing them and offending someone.
