Fragged Colony

I fragged a few peices of my zoo colony about 2 weeks ago and one portion of the colony still hasnt opened back up yet which is really odd, htey normally open within an hour if getting back in the tank.

This is affecting about 50+ polyps, i dont think I damaged any polyps at least none show visible signs. i would hate to think i ruined my colony to get some beer money frags...

Normally I like to do a dip on freshly fragged pieces to try and eliminate bacterial or fungal problems.
Such as a ReVive dip or Lugols dip.
Did you do any?

I didnt do any dips, i need to start though. this was my first fraggin experience. the frags are all ok, looking great. Its the colony i fragged from that im worried about, in one section all the polyps have been closed since the last frag session 2 weeks ago.

I think anytime you cut into a colony you run the risk of starting something.
Can you get the colony back out and do a saltwater dip using anything, like Lugols, or and of the other coral dip meds like ReVive?

I agree with the above..

Better to do it now before you see them melting or shrinking from an infection.

What type did you frag? Do you have a pic?

Hey finn, whats your procedure when you dip with revive?

my colony is atomic green and eagle eye - about 250 polyps on a peice of tonga. I cut away some loose polyps and made about 5-6 frags from 6-15 heads each.

here is the colony before, no after pics but the patch of red zoas on the bottom right arent opening at all.
