Fragged in a rush

Hey, I got a few frags of Acros a week ago. I had one that had no polyp extension at all and one that does intermittently.

Well I came home tonight, and shined a flashlight in the tank to see what was going on, only to find the acro that has no PE breaking out with a big case of RTN.

Unfortunately I had nothing available to try and frag it to save some of it, so I just pulled it out, snapped off some limbs that were untouched, and then used some of the epoxy and replaced in the tank.

Is this ok? Did I mess something up? Or am I asking for a disaster for my other corals? Thanks

That will work, now the question is - will the frags survive. Some times RTN cannot be stopped even if you frag the acro.

If anyone could figure that out - it would be a breakthrough. Unknown causes (stress, parameters out of whack, etc.). It may cause other corals in your tank that are already stressed to RTN, but noone is certain. Good luck!
