attach the bottom to the mounting object. the stalk will grow from the bottom, and the cut side will heal and round out forming a miniature version of the parent.

I use crazy glue gel, I blot the frag bottom with a paper towel and use a dry rock for the mount. when putting it back into the tank, just keep it out of the flow for a day or two.
others use a toothpick passed through the bottom and glue the toothpick (because of the toadstool's slime factor.) others also use cotton string and tie it to the mount the string dissolves by the time the frag adheres to the mount by itself.
If you have some LR rubble and a low flow area in your tank, I find that leathers will attach the fastest on their own. Then it is much easier to adhere rock to rock rather than trying glue, tool, string etc. Just my $.02
Glue rarely works because leathers slime. There are two methods. One is to stick the leather in a hold and brace it there with another rock. The second is to sew it to the rock. Use a clean needle and sew through the leather 2-4 times to hold it. Then tie it around the rock. After 2-3 weeks you can remove the string.
I recently fragged an Ora Toadstool. The head was very large and
I cut a circle around the head and was left with a donut shape of the toadstool.I then cut it into pieces about a half an inch. Then I
pierced each piece on the bottom with a tooth pick and mounted them on a frag disc secured with a rubber band. They secured themselves in about a week and I pulled the tooth pick out.
Hope that helps.
