Fragging advice

I have this green neon birdnest that's has reach amazing size! I like having big colonies in my tank but this one is starting to shadow and kill everything below it. Should I frag it or move it? I how should I frag it, off the sides or from the top to allow light through it? Thanks for the help!

You can just frag the area that's covering things up.

Just break what ever you want to remove. Or get some bone cutters and snip away.

Yup, easiest just buy a bone cutter and cut areas that covers, they grow fast

If it were me, I would trim it like you would with a bush. Trim off all new grown down to the thickest part your bone cutter can handle. The idea is to trim it so that it becomes a miniature shape of what it looks like now. By doing so, you are actually doing the "thinning out" since the lower parts are more spaced out. It resets the entire thing without it looking too "ugly" or out of shape. Hope that makes sense.
