i was wondering how can i frag a bubble coral..? if its possible,,, any thoughts would be helpful....i have purple bubble and pearl bubble coral...thank

One of the more widely used methods I have seen done for fragging a bubble coral is to put a rubberband down the middle so that eventually the tissue will split, and after it does, get a dremel and drill down the middle where the tissue has split to form to deperate parts.

Keep in mind, this will take a while.

yes i know it "can" be done but from what i hear its more hastle and risk then its worth. my advice (if your bubbles gettin to big) is to simple sell it to another hobbiest and buy a smaller bubble in its place with the money. or look at it as a hint of a reason to upgrade! lol

I had about an 8 year old one. I used a dremel to score the bottom of it then used a flathead screwdriver to split. When you get to the fleshy part just use an x-acto type hobby knife to make a clean cut. I have also done it by just tearing fleshly stuff apart when splitting. Both methods worked out find but using the hobby knife is probably the safer.

Next day when expanded couldn't even tell they had been split.
