i bought a frag from Aquatic Bliss and the way they fragged it was all the way on the based using a saw. If you can cut the rock might as well do it too..
Just cut as low in the branch as possible with a diamond wheel and dremel. Cut too high, and the skeleton can crack easily or you'll create a hole straight through the dendro's mouth.
