Fragging echinata

I have a large rainbow echinata that is growing out over the substrate, can I frag it off with scissors?

Got a picture? I’ve always used stainless steel bone cutters for fragging.

Oh, my bad, you’re talking about an echinata. For some reason when I first read the OP I thought I read Efflo (Acropora).

An Echin is an LPS. If memory serves, you need a portion of the skeleton along with part of the flesh to frags an LPS.

I've never fragged an acan but generally you separate the skeleton between the heads. Trimming off flesh without skeleton would not produce a viable frag IMO.
