Anytips on fraggin Frogspawn?

This Saturday I'll be removing 5 heads that are all togeather and should only need 1 cutt/snip. If I do it wrong I could damage the rest of it.

I attended an event held by a local forum and an expert came down and did a fragging demo, he said to becarful with snips b/c you can crush and spilt the heads while fragging. He said if you do, you can sometimes glues them back togeather but, they don't always make it. He suggested using a cutting wheel on a Dremel.

I tried looking for a video on youtube but the only one I could find is of a guy with a screwdriver snapping branches off and going to town with a pair of snips.

I have snips, I have screwdrivers(lol) and, I have a Dremel. I'm scared of damaging the other heads with the cutting wheel. It might fit but, I'm nervious and don't want to take any chances.

Could I use a virticle title cutting bit instead? What kind of bit would you suggest?

highly recommend using a dremel on corals like this if possible. I have all kinds of bits laying around, and they all seem to work fine. I dont know the names/differences in any of them these days. I bought different ones in the past to find the best, and it basically comes down to cost now. You can even frag these by just snapping them with your fingers (if the branch is long enough = leverage), so as long as the blade/bit is going through the skeleton, you'll be fine.

The branch I want to take off is attached to the main stcok and is pretty thick. I think if I tried to snap it or snip it it might fracture the whole thing. Dremel it is

Do you have a picture of the coral you want to frag?

You want to frag 5 heads off a colony with a total number of heads of...?

I would just make sure to go at least 5 cm below the tissue of the polyp on the skeleton.

It's much bigger now, Pic was taken soon after it was added to the tank.

The skeleton elongates as heads divide and grow. I was trying to get an idea of how long the branch you were trying to cut off was.

Some are more prone to fracturing than others. In any case your better of cutting it. Dremel, hack saw, ban saw, or my favorite a coping saw.
