Fragging giant leather coral

I have a rather large leather coral that's starting to take over my 75 gallon tank and needs some serious trimming, I understand the general idea of fragging one of these but all the examples I see are little pieces, is there any risk in fragging this thing into lets say 6 large pieces?

Thanks in advance!

You may want to frag outside of the tank using water from a water change.
Obviously frag on a work surface, but put it in water change water for a bit.
It will release “stuff” when cut.
You can eliminate most from your display tank with this method.
And like the other poster said, run carbon after fragging.

I just use a scissor or a razor blade and chop mine up in the tank. No issues at all. I have to trim it once a month as they grow so fast.
