Fragging mushrooms

What's the best way to remove mushrooms? I have a couple I need to remove.

Use a razor blade. The little piece of foot left over will most likely grow another mushroom.

I have used everything from a straight screwdriver, chisel( 1/2" ) to a surgical scalpel ( all metal rigid one ).

yah same here, i like to use a scalpel or an exacto knife.

So I take it they're hard to kill. So if I'm careful I should be good

Kalk paste over any tissue that's left. It'll grow back from the tiniest bits.

I don't mind if they grow back. I just wanted a safe way to remove them. So just cut as close to the base as possible correct

Tim, best to chisel the rock under it.
That way you can glue the rock bit to the frag plug.

true^ I hadn't thought of that at first but it is a pita to get loose shrooms to attach, so if you can take some substrate with it it will make it easier to mount elsewhere.

also, once you cut them you can put them in a calm tub of water with some rubble and see if they will attach quickly, then you can just move the rubble.

Out of the 3 loose mushrooms I have tried adding to the DT over time only 1 mounted where I want and didn't end up behind the rock work. They're alive back there, but who can see em.
