Fragging?

About a week ago I purchased my first zoa frag. It is a small rock colonized with eagle eye polyps. There is one radioactive dragon eye polyp in the mix and the eagle eyes seem to be snuffing the poor guy out.

What is the best way to frag these guys? I'm a little nervous about it because I keep seeing things about palytoxin. Any input is greatly appreciated!

make sure to wear, protective eye glasses , I personally use mask too in case of zoanthid squirts your eyes/mouth. Besides using gloves.

I've been squirted in the eyes and mouth, slight palytoxin hit from button polyps, bad experience I don't want anyone to go thru.

Thank you for the link. Will start gathering supplies tomorrow and hopefully muster the testicular fortitude to attempt the frag Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully the little Radioactive eye polyp can hold in there! Those eagle eyes are taking hold QUICK!

On a side note, I think I'm going to have to try to isolate a couple of rocks for a zoa garden in my tank! Neat little guys.

I gathered up the bravery to frag them last night. I got 2 of the eagle eye polyps on a second rock with no incident. They kind of have opened up a bit today. But, I am worried about the little green one I was trying to save! He has made no attempt to open. I'm hoping that it is just because he got a bit more stress than the others and not because he's super glued shut lol. What is the average time of one of these opening up after being fragged?
