Fraggle reef group buy?

thats a great idea eric, I am looking at a green ricordea rock i got a couple weeks ago from him, it has 10 polyps on a piece of tonga which would have been easy to frag. for $33 thats $3.30 a polyp!! that would be a deal, I know he'd love to order us some rics so we could do it that way, in fact i bet he would make sure the cost was way cheaper than the internet to keep the business local.

Its up to Eric D, I commited already so Eric D can make the call and I'll ask him or you can.

alright I will talk to scott tomorrow, see when he could get them in, what colors prices e.t.c.
i'll report back tomorrow night I dont want to hold up the order, but if you want to give it a shot and see if maybe we can get the price down further. The thing is I will need to negotiate wether we buy them cheap and accept what comes in, or refuse ones we dont like and not be obligated (advantage of buying at LFS), things I will discuss with him and see what sounds best for everybody.

It gives us the advantage of getting a good look a them and not having to take some we really don't want. If he can get a few colonies we might get the variety people want.

my suggestion is to tell him exactly what colors you are looking for and the chances are you will be able to get most of them. also supporting the local folks and our sponsors is a great way to go. :)

I couldn't agree more, Eric.

Still, we're on a very short timeline here. We either need to order now and maybe not get everything we really want, or wait just over 2 weeks to figure out exactly what we want and get the best deal possible.

I think there are advantages to waiting until just after Christmas:
- You can make a bigger order, which could mean an even better deal price-wise, or maybe more willingness on the seller's part to give us what we ask for.
- You have time to put together a list of what everybody wants. We could pass our "wish list" to the seller, and would stand a better chance of getting what we each want.
- You have time to look for better deals.
- Less risk of an overnight package being delayed after Christmas. We could place the order right before Christmas with an agreed-upon after-Christmas delivery date that will ensure overnight delivery.
- Ordering right before Christmas still counts as a Christmas present, even if delivery is the next week.
