Ok half of my acans col is dieing. My rock work fell on it yesterday when I was doing a water change. So I'm look for a saw for a dremel that will cut the coral with ez. I went homedepot and not thing. I'm some what new to the city looking for good tool store. Or if someone have one I can use.

Thanks zef Lucas

Have you tried the Craftsman section of Sears? I know they carry some Dremel things. I haven't gotten far enough along to need to frag yet so I don't have one you can borrow.

I often go and get things for the husband at Ace as well. Just suggestions, good luck in your search.

Zef, Harbor Freight carries several small, cheap tools that should work as well. Not the greatest quality, but they'll do in a pinch. I'm sure there are a few around town, we've got one in Clarksville.

Zef,

I second harbor freight. There is one right by the food lion on Lebanon Rd...a hop skip and jump for you just before 840 on the right hand side.

Thanks eveyone for your input.I'm going try Harbor Freight. I think there's one by me and also in rivergate. Thanks again.

Zef if you dont have a dremel you can use mine. As far as a cutting blade not sure which one to recommend. Im about to buy a band saw I think that should do it.

The best would be a wet tile saw you can get at lowes and that yellow tool place I don't know about up there where they are at. If you look at lowes they have some dremel blades that I have used

Harbor Freight actually has a 4inch (1.75" cutting depth) wet saw on sale right now on their website @ $18. I think all prices are good in store.

Harbour Freight or Northern Tool "the yellow place" as I think Wayne was calling it have good deals on tools all of the time. Their is a HF behind Toys R Us off of I-24 Bell road exit.

Thanks that wet table saw is a good deal. I'm going to get one for my floors. I was looking for a diamond blade for a dremel. My acan is only 2x3" so a table lil to big. And I like to keep my fingers. Lol

For acans, favia, brains, act...I think a small band saw with 1/8" diamond blade will be the most versatile. Just my 2 cents.

I actually saw a video a few years back with some big name guy that was using a wet saw to frag a brain. I thaught I would never do that well as Norman can contest to I did and it was cool. how pricey are the band saws? I thaught they were spendy last time I looked as wanted one to cut steaks. :)

A mini band saw with a diamond blade is the best way to go. You can cut around all the corallites so they heal faster. I don't think I'd use a Dremel with a cut-off wheel -- too imprecise and too hot.

harbor freight (one in hickory hollow near the closed circuit city & donelson pike near briley) & also the workshop tools store in opry mills is a good place for inexpensive tools.

ya James thats Norman and my shopping time let the girls go everywhere else and we spend hours looking at tools :)

I dont remember how much it was there just not under $20
