Fraging zoanthids of glass

shouldn't be any toxins and if there were a minimal maount, gfo should take care of it. I've never heard of zoas hurting any sps - leathers on the other hand...

No problem..
Wear gloves to protect yourself.
Make sure you have no exposed wounds when placing your bare hands in the tank at all times.
Cut the desired portion for the frag with a sharp new razor blade, but be careful not to mark the glass. Razor will damage the glass of you do it to hard.
Got skimmer?
The bigger the exposed cut, the more internal fluids will be released in the water. Most of the time it's not a problem if you do it the right way.
Do not cut less then 5 polyps at a time. The more you can fit on the plug, the better they will recuperate from the cutting.
I aways recommend a partial water change after fragging to help export the toxins. Doesn't hurt to do that. The fluids are not so good for the fish, specially in a 29gal.
You can dip the frags, and glue them right a way. Leave them alone in the tank.

I believe others will give you more tips of how they do...

Good luck!

Grandis.

:hmm4: PLEASE EXPLAIN! I have a 110, green toadie on left end, zoa plugs on right end with the HOB overflow directly above. I fragged 2 plugs Friday night and my toadie hasnt opened since. I rinsed in saltwater after fragging...

You fragged 2 of what? If you fragged the toadstool it will probably take awhile to open, they can be ****y after cutting.

Sorry I fragged 2 different groups of zoos, made 2 plugs, rinsed all in a bowl of clean tank water (trashed it) then placed back in tank. Toad still not open :(

Sharkbait! Ooh Ha Ha!

Been a few years since I had a toadstool. Seems like they go through periods where they don't really open, then one day there they are fully open. I wouldn't think your zoas had anything to do with that. When I referenced leathers earlier, I meant leathers could be toxic to sps, not that zoas could be toxic to leathers :)
