Frags!

Yeah, I would like to have some frags of your zoos and especially your red monti cap. It would probably be better though if I wanted a week or so at least to make sure my tank is stabilized. How fast does your monti cap grow by the way? I got my lights up and going now so hopefully I will have some zoos to frag for you in return. I may need a lesson in fragging zoos though.

Fragging them is easy. It is just cut and paste. When you frag you can stick little peices of rubble next to them and let them grow over, or just cut with a rasor and skim the rock off underneath them. You want to use super glue gel though when you have to glue them to a plug or rubble. Regular super glue is to runny. If you use it on a peice of rubble, it will run through the rock and glue your fingers to it. It sucks....I know
The red monti grows fast. that peice was only about 3inches across a year ago or so. If you are going to keep sps you need to check your calcium level. Bulk reef supply is the cheapest place to get it. It cost around $50 to get the kit, but it will last for ever.

I need to get a bit of rubble and I think I could easily frag a few of the zoos I have.
I plan to purchase good testing kits for calcium, mag, and possibly phosphates soon. I will be using two part dosing to maintain levels for now, but will probably end up purchasing a calcium reactor down the road.
I am running my 250 watt metal halides with Lumenmax 2 reflectors (Reeflux 10k bulbs). I am in the process of wiring up my T5s (two of them running Actinics).

You can get rubble pretty cheap at the pet store on stellhorn and maplecrest.
The mont will love that 10k. It has blown up under mine, my problem was not having any other lighting to speak of and I lost the color pop in the 10k, but when the MH went off for the night and my actinic was one, it glows red.
I have never heard of a good test kit for phospates. For the money of the test kit on that I would just by a phosban reactor and media, then you should not have to worry about it at all.

Teh rubble is like $3.50 a pound, but that gets you a lot of rubble. Good to keep it in your sump or fuge. Watch your cheato from there, I know someone that got that from there and they had an aptasia explosion.
I maintain mine by doseing my 2 part twice a week. I do it in the morning before the lights come on so everything is nice and closed.
