Fragswap

I know that prices on frags vary according to size of frag and rarity. But seeing how this will be my first frag swap. What kind of prices should I expect for frags of pretty common sps/lps/softies at the swap. This way I can kinda prepare the wife on how much I might spend. In a nutshell.
What is the typical frag going for these days between swap members ?

Yes, I would like to know the same thing, and get feedback on who might have what. My tank will hopefully be fully ready to start stocking at swap time.

It really depends on what you are looking for... I can say that prices are very fair at the frag swaps I have been to. So it really depends on what you are looking for. I am putting together Blue/Purple mushrooms, orange mushrooms, watermelon mushrooms, and different zoas. Including some nuc greens. And a few other great things. Size of tank and need is what you really need to worry about. Don't over fill your tank but get some great pieces you a confident you can keep alive!!!! /pm me if you about prices I plan to put on frags.

Oh my coral killin days are over (hopefully). I am planning to add about 50-70 lbs more rock to my tank. So I am looking to pick up 4 maybe 5 frags.

I am seriously considering offer all frags for $25, including some hard-to-find LE stuff. Most are SPS though. The really rare stuff that doesn't grow fast for me would be smaller frags but I'm considering keeping the price consistent across the board. All would be pre-sale only as I don't want to pay for a table at these prices. This would be my way to "give back" to the reefing community, particularly in these difficult economic times. Stay tuned...

hey guys by the time the swap rolls around i'll have my killer 340watt maybe even 425 watt system up and running, ive never had corals before, are zoas, mushrooms and star polyps the only things easy things to keep fyi i like zoas so thats not a prob but i also would love a brite colored frogspawn and a brite colored star polyp :D

Prices are usually fair from table to table. Some things can be a little pricy (tyree war coral), but you tend to get what you pay for. Most people are there to boost the hobby and are not looking to make a ton of money.

nightfire, general rule of thumb is that softies are easier because they tend to like "dirty" water and expand their polyps more. Xenia, Kenya tree (don't keep them together mine nuked each other), hammers, galaxea, etc. All worked well for me when I started out and are still living today.

Nightfire, The mushrooms are very easy, and the blue/purple and orange set off a lot of color. Zoas are easy but make sure you set them where they are happy and then leave them alone. Moving them too much makes them very very unhappy. I will look forward to seeing you at the swap. Leah
