Fragworkshop questions

KING LEAR
Just trying to get a idea other then my own on how many people one would guess there to be at the workshop.

I'd start a thread asking who is going but I'm guessing 50% of the club isn't online that often or at all.

Last year we had 45 people fragging corals
This year I'd guess that number to be higher probably around 65 due to more people active in the club and the fact were getting some nicer pieces in.

The club has a chance to get some assuie acans instead of the challice coral I posted awhile back due to no nice challice corals showing up on the wholesale lists.

I don't want to order to many acans as there expensive$$$ but I want to make sure everyone can get a piece too.

So what do you think? 40,50, 60?

I will hopefully get some pics of corals on Monday night as well, not everything is in right now and some stuff is still in the air. so stay tuned for pictures.

Thanks for your input

Erik

I would say 60 and you can offer left overs at the end if there are any for a small fee?

I would LOVE to see Acans on the frag list, I want to learn how to frag the one I have, its got a few new small polyps already.

Count me in for one Erik.

Maybe it would be easier to have a running total.
If you post here add yourself to the last number posted :)

My post makes 3 unless Erik if fragging this year.

That will only log the online people though
Im just looking for a educated guess, last months meeting had alot of people there so Im guessing that many plus some

I was surprised to hear that there were 45 ppl last year. I thought it was kind of low turnout. It seemed like less than 45 to me but I wasn't really counting or paying attention to it.

I would guess there are only 20% of people who do not use RC in the club. We should get an actual count of members who aren't online at a couple meetings.

This is the list as of now, more will be known on Monday

Assuie acan probably 3 different color morphs
zoo's
soft coral...leathers
sps
ricordia
maybe a few others such as yellow scroll, green sinularia, poccilipora

thanks
Erik

It's not going to hurt having a running total here. Sure, it won't be "everybody", but having "some" level of commitment is better than taking a total shot in the dark.

I of course will be there.

We would be interested in 1 Acan frag, Zoo's, and Ricordia,

Just to clear things up a bit. Once you pay to frag that night you get some of EVERY coral offered for fragging if you want it. There may be things that are out of the range of your lighting or flow capabilities or maybe there is something that you aren't into like soft corals and you have a totally SPS tank.

It seems like some people are thinking they will have to choose frags they want when you can have some of every coral if you want.

It really is a fun time and you come out of there with some new knowledge and new corals.

Thanks Kevin, I was just about to post something like that.

Last year we had 45 paid fraggers

last year at a meeting we asked how many were online, and it was 50% some never heard of reef central. I'd sayits higher then that now but how much higher I don't know. On C-seas forum here Its usually online what the same 15-20 tops that are on or post.
I'd also guess that the 50-60% that do get online and read the boards that half of that number only check once or so a month.

Something we should poll at a meeting just to see.

We need to know how many new members we have gotten after the workshop last year and add about 50% of them to last years total also Check with Janda if you have not talked to him yet he said someone was going to give us somethings to frag

Eric, are we really doing 3 different Acans that everyone will get a frag of? if we have even 50 people thats a lot of acan.

1 frag of every coral per person, not one frag of every color morph.

Hold questions till monday, lets just keep this as a how many people do you think will be there thread for now

see you all monday, off to win some money at seneca :)

Lets try this thread from getting off track too :)
plain and simple
20 dollars for membership fee if your not a member
20 dollars to frag corals
that will get you one frag from each table station.
If theres extra frags something will be discussed at that time, IE extra piece, raffle them off ect.
