Frank's 120 gallon upgrade build.

Frank the Tank :spin1: you have come a long way. Your tank is looking super. It will be beautiful when it all grows in. Nice selection of fish.

Thank you for the compliment. It certainly has been a long road. I still have a ton to learn, though. Everything is growing nicely and it's just about patience now. The good news is that most of the coral will grow together and I can focus on fish for the time being.

I'm actually excited about the new fish additions and if I can get past this QT round without another casualty, I think a tang or angel will be in order after this. I, also, want to try Lori anthias next.

Corals look happy. Cyano will pass. Just keep doing what you're doing and don't be like me and feel compelled to change something.

So, mini update after the photos.

Water changes over the last few weeks have brought my SG from 1.026 to 1.024. Corals seem super happy about the water changes. Alk consumption has increased so I'm now on 4tspn in my ATO instead of 3. It drifted to 7.0 even thought my new water mixes at 7.5 that has been going into the tank. I'll test for phosphate this weekend along with nitrates.

Cruising along. My anthias and wrasse will go into the display on Tuesday night. Construction starts on my home on Wednesday. So, being that the room will be exposed to open air temps with the outside, I don't have a way of managing temp in the qt. Tuesday will mark 21 days. They've gone through two rounds of prazi and are all eating very well.

I've also stopped dosing biodigest and fuel.

Thats it for now.

Well, not much to write home about. Just steady progress. I have gotten a Kore 5th doser on trade. Super happy about it. Played with the programming and it's a super easy set up even though everyone complains about it.

Now, I just have to find alk and calc and I'm setting this up Sunday.

Well, it's probably time for an update. I don't have any photos to share at the moment. Just some commentary.

Over the past few months I tried a doser and had a mishap. Ended up with major oversaturation. The tank was completely white and I couldnt' see 1" into the glass. I ended up losing both of my wrasses but everything else survived. Kinda weird that all my sps and my anomone made it but not the wrasses. Oh well.

I've since switched to manually dosing two part ME Calc and Alk. Only 15ml per day of each. Tank is steady at 7.3dkh every Sunday morning.

I have purchased a Neptune Dos that will be set up tomorrow. Aside from that, everything else is still the same.

I've added a few fish to the tank. 3 Evansi's, a scopas tang, and a Black Cap. I've been using Chloroquine Phosphate prophylactically to treat for ich, velvet, brook, and uronema. All has gone well and I have no signs of it in the tank since the new fish were added.

I just got 6 small female resplendent anthias in yesterday. They're all in QT today and a few ate frozen cyclops. All are healthy and alert.

I've switched feedings to a mix of frozen mysis, sp. brine, cyclops, and Rod's. I just mix chunks together and feed from it over the course of a week. I'm only doing two feedings per day and it seems to be sufficient. I'm also feeding nori 2x2" sheets every other day for the angel and tang. It's usually gone in 24 hours if it isn't by the time i get home from work.

My skimmer is finally giving me a nice black fill instead of tea colored.

Everything has grown really well. My BTA split and one of the clones decided to walk and run into a Darwin Bonsai that I got from Rov. Hasn't killed it but a good side of it is white. I'm debating fragging the three branches off and relocating them since it does grow really well in my tank.

The other thing that I'm considering is monitoring pH. I have ignored it since the tank was put up but I watched a BRS video where they placed a CO2 scrubber on their inlet for the skimmer and they noticed that consumption of alk and calc went up immediately. I'm wondering if my 15ml usage isn't tied to a low pH(7.8-8 instead of 8.2-8.3).

We'll see. I'm going to try and get some photos up for you guys tomorrow.

Well, ended up at the dolphins game yesterday. Didn't get to take the photos that I wanted to here's a night time FTS from my iPhone.

Excuse my dirty glass.
