Yes, but its does very well in exporting nutrient, imo, better than chaeto. Well, at least from tanks I've seen. I do like cheato better because its safe from it going sexual.

oh by the way, all calurpa was from a fellow reefer's tank, not mine. I'm still trying to grow out the chaeto you gave me
