Free Citron Gobie

I have a citron gobie free to a good home. This fish will nip at sps polyps, hence why he's free. He is in my sump right now and waiting to be adopted.

It was actually pretty awesome how I caught him. I took a 10 foot long piece 3/4 ID nylon hose and put one end next to his favorite sitting spot. Then I hooked the other end onto a mag 9.5 that was hung in the other side of the tank. The mag pump was hooked to a switch so I could easily turn it on and off. This allowed me to ambush him when he got comfortable and suck him in the hose. I then quickly turned off the pump before he was minced up by the pump. Then I just took the hose out and put it in the sump were he came right out.

lol that was smart...good thing he didnt get stuck in the hose though lol then ya would have to shoot him like a blow dart lol.....he is a cute fish and i'd take him but scared he might eat up the 2 sps i got

Yup the little chit has a taste for the polyps. He destroys polyps and makes all the others suck in. Took me two months to finally catch him

I had one if those. Blinded him at night and netted his rear end. Those guys will decimate a colony.

ive got a clown goby but no sps ive heard glown goby bother them also are the citrons worse or the same? curious cause if i ever get some sps lol

FWIW, if you want good reef goby, try trimmas or eviotas.

Trimmas and eviotas are nice gobies (and come in some cool colors) - but have a very short life span (compaired to some other gobies). Many live less than a year.

I have a green clown gobie and he doesn't nip at anything. He does wedge himself in the cadycane coral to sleep - but the candycane doesn't seem to mind!

will it eat pellets? If it is easy to care for and don't need much feeding then I'll take it and put it in my 12g algae tank.

I made the mistake of getting one of those once. It severely chewed up several sps colonies before I finally got him out. I put his favorite colony in a clear plastic jar and he went in and I put the lid on.

Travis is that the lil guy that took a long time to get out of the overflow, when we went and got my tank in bama.

No this was a citron goby and the one in bama we saw was a clown goby. Also we never got him out of the overflow, he stayed in bama
