"Free" Cleanup Crew

Thought I'd post this in case anyone needs some snails and such. A friend of mine referred me over to this site: www.aquaticisland.com. If you register for the site, login, then go to "cleaners" and click on "free cleaner package" you can get a free cleanup crew. The cleanup crew consists of 20 Nassarius, 5 red tipped hermits, 5 cerith, and 2 margarita snails. You'll also get a $10 off coupon in your email when you register. The prices on inverts are really good, as well. Unfortunately, there was a "10 dollar low order fee" applied, but the coupon negated it. Anyways, here was my order... not bad for 20.90 shipped:

The site is horrible. I get asked to log in no matter that I've logged on 80 times already... and I can't find the cart.

i got the cleaner package a while ago for free, but it was before they made you pay a whole bunch for random chargers. after my online coupons i got and whatnot i ended up paying like 4 bucks. but everything is still alive

I heard the mars ordered them and the snails kept climbing out of the tank... if these are the ones, they are catching them above the water line. but they have other nice items, ill find out if they sell wholesale and try a group buy from them next time.

I ordered with my friends from them before. Their ceriths were pretty nice size. The nass snail were very small. Margarita were huge and didn't last 3 days.

They didn't send what we (my portion) ordered. When I talked to them, they said my stuff are in my friends's bags. All the bags are all labeled with our name. They didn't sent my stuff and said the extra snails they included in my friends's bags are mine . They said they will send me some extra next time. Will there be next time??? I DON'T THINK SO...

I just don't have any luck with buying snails online. The last GB, 90% of my snails didn't make. The guy didn't do anything about it. No more buying snails or live stock online for me. I rather support our LFS then buying online.

crazzyreefter: Snails above the water line? Do some snails have a tendancy to do that more than others? Is it a huge problem?

Holy Crap, I just got confirmation for a 238 Dollar order that I never made... I was just clicking around because I was trying to reach the checkout..... interestingly, the site functioned from home but there was nothing in the cart.

They never got back to me when I told them I had issues with their site. They don't answer the phone. I would be careful with them.

It just occured to me that they never had my CC info or Paypal info as I had so many issues with the site.... and I look at the "order confirmation: and i see this:

They obviously have teething issues. I just got a call back after another call. He'd run some tests on my account and it fired me an email when I should not have done so. Seems a nice guy and was very apologetic. Seems like they are working hard trying to improve their site and get things running better.

inter tidal pool snails are used to being out of the water.. and they are usally found on your floor. Thanks for the heads up with the company.

Got my order. Not too bad at all for 20 bucks. Looks like I only had 2 snails not make it. I'm not sure if the cerith snails are really ceriths though. They're huge for ceriths.. looks like some sort of reef snail. The margaritas are gigantic as well. Everything seems to be healthy; I would definitely order again.

I got my order today also. The margaritas are gigantic about 1 + inch in diameter. I placed everything into a bowl and dropped it into the tank and within 30 second everything was move around. After 15 minutes everything climb out of the cup and onto the tank wall.

My order came in yesterday. Yes, those margaritas...monster snails.

Losses: 1 Margarita, 3 Cerths, 2 Hermits

None are climbing out of the tank. Is everything supposed to be this dirty? I've never ordered livestock online before. I had to rinse everything in saltwater before putting it into my tank.

All in all, nothing negative yet.

yeah, that always happens. Snails excrete, they end up pretty dirty. Always good to rinse them

How are everyone's free cleaners doing? I just ordered mine today along with some extras. I'm guessing they will ship Monday.
