free elegant coral

Hello all,

I recently bought an elegant coral from a lfs, and its not doing very well in my tank. I've tried everything I can think of to no avail. All of my parameters are fine. So I've decided if anyone wants to give it a try, maybe someone with a nicer set up or more experience I'll let them have the coral. Just message me or respond here. It was kind of expensive, so I just want it to live some where. Have a great day

Good luck with it. It's at best a tricky coral, most last a year and self destruct. There was some study on what was going on, it seems that older ones from 5 or 6 years ago are just fine. Steve has a good tank, it'll have a good shot in there.

He is going to give it a while longer...his setup sounds pretty decent in parameters. Give it a week then I will try to get it going if he needs to. Talked him into waiting to see what happens.

Like sarduci said good luck !! I have tryed a couple in my tanks and they just don't servive, they look good for awhile and then Bam they waste away. Not worth wasteing your money on them, thou the web sites selling them say they are easy to house they just do not hang on. And yes they have done a long study on them and know one can give a solid reason as to why they do not servive. They thought it might have been due to being harvested from deeper water but not completely positive on this. becareful steve if you do house it, if it should start to die remove right away as you can pollute your tank very fast. just my 2 cents .
