free mangroves

ive got free mangroves if someone wants some for there refugium / biotope small and big in largo area

I don't have a sump or refugium...just a basic 30 gallon with hang-on back filter and protein skimmer. Can I still have a mangrove? How do I "install" it?

yeah just know that the mangrove will grow , you just plant it in your sand , when it gets to big you'll have to take it out but it should take a while to grow ive got some 3 in mangroves

Do you use red mangroves, like the kinds of seeds you find floating around here? If you stick a seed in the aquarium substrate, will it just grow? Sorry to sound so ignorant...but this is new territory for me!

yeah you just plant it in your aquarium or in your refugium and it will grow , they are slow growers (about an inch a year maybe more). not the biggest in nutrient export until they get bigger but a cool addition anyway

well a good thing to do is to make a styrofoam float. They grow much much better out of the water mostly. I actually grow them in pots on top of my tanks so trust me lol. They get barely any light, and are growing amazingly. it is also best to get them with no leaves on them and a little roots. That way they wont just drop theyre leaves anyways from the change. ps They will also grow in freshwater just as well. ALSO they remove good stuff like magnesium too...
