ive had my tbs package about one week and discovered two mantis shrimp. one is a smaller dude but the other is close to two inches and is pounding on the tank.

for removal, how fast can a mantis swim? i am wondering because if i pick up his rock i dont know if ill be quick enough to grab him before he heads somewhere else.

this is a sport isnt it?

i have one of the bolt grabbers for mechanics that i was going to nab him with. im both worried for my hand and for the other rocks that may inherit him if i dont get em first.

The mantis is more likely to hole up than try and make a break for it. Figure out which rock its living in and pull that rock out to freshwater dip it. Another RC member (and i hope i gt this right) mentioned that he had the best luck by freshwaterdiping the rock for about 10 minutes then popping it into hypersaline waters.
