Free Pulsing Xenia, GSP wanted

I may have a couple in the baseball size, more like racketball to tennis ball though. If ya can and don't mind, post a couple pics of the GSP rocks. I can post this eve a pic of the rocks in comparison to a coke can or something.

Any pieces that you have will be fine, just need them to cover the bottom. You do want the xenia too right? I will post pics later when lights come on.

I have plenty of Xenia...unless you have a different type. I'll post a pic this eve of what I have.

xenia is considered the weed of corals, alot of people dont like it cause its almost impossible to kill and covers everthing if you let it. Although if you like the look of it some people have set up tanks strickly for xenia and they look beautiful. As for care, just set it and forget it. As long as you have lights and water it should be fine.

I like xenia, but yeah, what tkimmons said... What I find interesting, some folks have issues keeping it what I've seen in some threads...

VandyTime, I'll get some rock pics later...

All that you see in the photo has grown from about 3 quarter sized spots on the rock in 6 months, there is some you can't see too...

do u ship if so how to 52732? 4 the pulsing Xenia.

I didn't plan on shipping any, really didn't even think about it to be honest. I've never shipped any coral, so I'd have to figure our the process with Fed-Ex I'd guess... I suspect about $25-$30 for overnight.

well my wife insists on me keeping the gsp. I guess it will go in her tank!

No problem, I understand.

I fragged the whole center rock with the most Xenia, I initially tried a chisel method, but the rock is too porus, and a significate portion broke off (with no xenio on it, nice), anyway, it's a beautiful piece of rock so I decided to use a razor blade next...I now have them sitting over some rubble in an acrylic box in the tank, going to try to let them attach themselves rather than mess with rubberbanding...I might try the superglue gel if some don't take...

The care parameters are the basic of basic. If your water has a correct temp/salinity/ph and you have basic lighting xenia shouldnt have any prob growing everywhere.

what are the care parameters of xenia? where are you located I want some!

I'm in Goodlettsville, about 15 mins north of Nashville. Be aware, this stuff can take over quick, so if you have plans for an SPS dominated tank, or a more mixed tank with minimal softies, it could be an issue within 6 months, just letting you know. Or you can frag/trim it to keep in check. But yeah, you're welcome to some.

would be glad to trade you. the only problem with that is the only coral i have at this time is coraline algea. :( i intend on rectifying this tuesday. if LFS has recieved any sweet colorfull zoa's. i almost have wood thinking about it..... lol. not really a dirty old man, just an old man. lol. someone very local to me has offered to gift me with some pulsing xenia. i hope that it is a different type than the one that you have. i would definately like to trade for some of yours in the future if they are in fact different. do you have a photo that you could post or a link to the type of xenia that you have. thanks in advance. i am very much enjoying this thread. good people coming together. very nice. well done all. i'm about at the 3 month mark on my tank. all is well. copeipod and algea for days. quite proud of it for starting it from dry rock. feel free to check out my build thread. will post more pics soon. awsome thread by the way. :)
finally have some to trade... JOY, RAPTURE, so on and so forth. have some light tan pulsing xenia. that is doing well if i have my sea legs that is. this is my 1st coral and i have nothing to compare it to. but i have read extensively. hope one day to start fraggin.... fraggin and attachin to rock 2 trade. fragin rock. reminds me of the old muppet type show by jim hensin fraggle rock. was very cool for a youngin. used 2 watch it when i was knee high 2 a grasshopper. gimme sum time to achieve reef sentience and i will gladly trade some.:reading:

That might work out, Sunday afternoon or early eve is best. Did I see a post that said you work in Dickson some days...that would make for an easy side stop one day if that's the case. I have plenty of xenia, so don't worry you can take your time...so a special trip may not be needed...always an excuse to visit AC though.

That's what I was thinking I work saturday night again 5pm-5am'ish(which usually works out to be 630-7am). I usually get through Nashville on those days about 830-9ish. If not that early I usually go home take a four hour nap and get up. Chris and I will be out taking a ride or doing something. If we aren't really up to anything I may talk him into another trip to the AC or something.
