You have to go all the way to actually placing the order before it takes the $ off.

The screen after you submit the order shows the reduced price.

I stopped right before that. I thought it would show the -$5.00 after you typed in the code

I did the same thing a while ago when they had another sale and e-mailed them about it.

I too think they should show you the price before you order but that's just not the way the Hellolights system is set up.

So for anyone else who orders from them, you have to actually hit the submit order button before you will see your discount. With their great customer service, even if it didn't go through for some reason I'm sure they'd fix it!
