ok, got the new tank setup & cycling. so here's what i have laying around that i don't need:

**(1) CADLIGHTS T5 light fixture. would work great on a refugium or small frag tank.
light measures 15" long & stands 5 1/4" overall & about 3" off the water. legs are infinately adjustable for width up to a 16" wide tank. light has seperate switches for actinic & 10k. only 1 good bulb but i moved it to the other 3 sockets & all sockets work
CONS: light uses a propritary-sized bulb (11") only available from cadlights.
Actinic Bulb Link & 10k Bulb Link

**(1) hood & compact florescent light fixture to fit a 10 gallon tank...great for a nurse or QT tank....or swap bulbs to 50/50 CF & use on a frag tank

**(1) hang on the back filter....would work great on a nurse, QT or frag tank. not sure of the brand or gph rating on it, but it was on a marinelife 14gal (10high) tank that i used awhile back for a few freshwater fish

** Carib Sea Live Sand ....i bought a 20lb bag but only needed roughtly 1/2 of it. there are (2) 1gallon ziplock bags of it

** (1) 1gallon ziplock bag of dried-out "dead" live sand

**(1) bag of bio-balls....about a 1gallon ziplock bag full

pm me if you are interested in anything. i live in the hickory hollow area & can meet anywhere nearby w/in reason (have ya seen the price of gas these days?!?!?! LOL)

ok, from times messages received, i have started a list of who wants what & in what order they asked & have responded to all pms so far......

t5 - 6 ppl asked so far

hood/cf light - 2 ppl so far

live sand - 2 ppl so far

filter - 1 person so far

dead sand - no takers yet

bio-balls - no takers yet

so i'm waiting to hear back from ppl who wanted stuff. will give it a day before offering to the next person in line. so if there is something not "dibbed" on that you want let me know

since i'm giving it away, i think it is only fair to go 1st asked has 1st dibbs.....if i was selling, $$$$ might have a swing vote, but i didn't think there would be this much interest so i figured free
LOL

think i might get rid of this "cave" of rock that i assembled from the 3 pieces of dead rock that was in the tank when i got it....make me an offer if interested

it measures 16" long x 6" tall x 6 1/2" deep. it is very pourous rock so it is very lite. haven't tried a float test since it is too wide for my tank (DOH!!) but i'm sure if it floats, it wouldn't be too hard to chip out the bottom & caulk some fishing weights in the base of it

What a cool shaped rock! Is it made out of some foam or all real rock just dried out? I may take that off your hands if its all rock. I have way to much rock of my own but that is a nice shape! Is that epoxy holding it together?

If no one wants the bio balls I can add them to a FW tank I am planning with a sump designed for them. No biggy if someone wants them but most reefers don't use them anymore..

it has a texture/appearance of being some kind of dead coral. it is very pourous & lite. started out as 3 larger pieces that looks like someone glued from smaller pieces....then i used good stuff expanding foam to put those 3 pieces together & trimmed the excess

here are a few closeup pics to show detail in the rocks......they are quite large pics :eek2:

compact florescent light fixture & hood & the bio-balls are gone

that leaves the live sand, dead sand & hang on the back filter

few had mentioned wanting those but no responses back as of yet

willing to ship the Live sand?

can, but it;s kinda heavy.....probably cheapest would be one of those "flat-rate" boxes at USPS

Sorry I never posted back about the rock formation! I would like to come look at it. Where abouts do you live or are you comming to the meeting? I live real close to finns (10 mins.) and plan on being there. I will take the sand for sure if no one gets it. I am setting up a tank in one of the girls rooms soon and it will work fine with some I have dry from carib sea already but if anyone "needs" it feel free to share the love. I also am always helping set up tanks fror freinds and the HOB would be put to use if no one wants it. I have 2 FW going for freinds kids and the filter on the 10 gallon is only rated for a 5 at best ( the tiny one). Just lmk :).
