Let me revise your statement and show you what class and TACT is:
"I think john, myself and a few others are going to chip in and refund his money. Jeni, you're still welcome to the clean-up crew but if you would like to help compensate a reefer down on his luck please just email one of us. Thanks."

Ed I never claimed to have class or tact...I just know what right and wrong....I feel its wrong...and I could care less how I come across to others...This thread has lost its constructiveness so I am done...I just hope you never find yourself in the same situation(whatever it may be) as this person

We'll feel free to mock your derranged babbling as you continue to assert yourself as some type of authoratative figure who as been charged to identify those of us that are socially maligned.

So let me get this straight.
You've got Larry, who seems to be breaking down his tank for his own reasons. He's offering some live stock, free of charge, which isn't that unusual here. Jeni replies and accepts his offer. Fair enough.
Then you have Eric, who decides that Larry isn't competent to handle his own affairs, even though he's been selling his equipment just fine.
Eric then declares to the world that Larry is going through a tough time. Perhaps Larry would have liked to keep that to himself, if it's true. He then criticizes everyone for taking a guy up on his offer and declares Larry's offer null and void. Who the heck, are you? They both seem to be pretty competent..
If you're so concerned why not PM, private being the operative word, Larry and offer to pay him for the live stock or just send Larry a couple of bucks and not broadcast it to the world, or would that be too simple and direct.
Then you have Dragonfish. He thinks Jeni should not be as vigilant as she is, so that guys that aren't as on their toes, such as himself, can have some free stuff. Maybe the guy that lives 5 minutes from you didn't want you to have the coral. Then you say you're losing respect for her? Where is the logic there?
Maybe, since Larry and Jeni came to an accord, they should be left alone.

You say vigilant, I say greedy. There is a difference between someone who occasionally takes a freebie and someone who takes everything she can get her hands on. Maybe the guy near me didn't want me to take the coral, but what does that have to do with anything? My point was that she got ****ed because I showed interest in the same thing she was trying to get. Thats greed. How is that so difficult to grasp?

The quote doesn't suggest that "we should just shut up and be good little CMAS zombies."
It suggests having some tact and if your going to become abrasive with someone do it in private....email....pm...etc...

Your out of the loop on the joke regarding Scott's. My comments regarding the shop has usually been "tongue in cheek."
Scott's Pet Shop is also a public vendor where it is considered more appropriate to express your discontent publicly versus posting negative comments about an private indivudal publicly.
Lastly, when I ONCE did criticize a Scott's Pet Shop thread. It wasn't actaully about the shop. It was directed to an employee who responded to a thread in a manner that only continued to emphasize the company's lack focus on customer satisfaction. I've been to the store several times since and had excellent expriences. They even answered the phone!
