I am looking to get a subadult French angel. Are they just as bad as the Queen angel when it comes to corals or has anyone had a good experience with them. Thanks

I think they are worse.
I´ve only known of 1 person keeping a queen in a reef, but never heard of a french in a reef.
I wouldn´t try it, there are many other species you can choose.

I totally agree, french angels are just as destructive if not worse than a queen. None of the Caribbean angels are a very good bet in a reef IMHO.

yes, both right neither angels *caribbean* will not make good reef fish. they will love it, but you wont!

I've heard that Regal angels are one of the only large angels that you could try in a reef. however any angel, even if it is so called reef safe is hit or miss

I have an asfur, emperor and majestic. None of them bother my corals (sps´s) but one friend once brought me a brain to recovery and all my angels started eating it at the moment.
It had to be removed in 10 minutes.

The safest large angels are IMO, regal, majestic, blueface, and emperor. I had an asfur that pretty much left everything except SPS alone. The ones you really want to avoid are the Holacanthus as these are about the most destructive in a reef in general.
