Frenchy's 12g Long Build

19D here, I didn't think you 11 series were smart enough to run a tank other then a Bradley ;)

Also your rocks cape / coral placement ideas sound awesome, if I had this tank i would definitely go with kessil 150's or a rapid led setup.

If you aint cav.....( I was in a RSTA unit for a bit )
But its funny you mention the Kessil, I have a 20 long with a Kessil 150....

Great little lights that pack a par punch. I am not a fan of the manual which Is why I purchased 2 sol blues, have you thought about 2 AI nanos?

After weekend update: Well I drilled the return holes on the weekend while I waited for the other drill bit to come.

All in all, Buy the better drill bits the smaller one I had absolutely sucked and it showed, but the big bit went great and smooth. Just stoked to be done drilling.
I installed the bulkheads with just a think layer of silicone between the gasket and glass.

I ran/cut the hose's and just about mocked up the sump, still have to run and get glass dividers for the sump. Also need to by some clamps or hooks for the sock filters.

At the end of the day the progress is coming along great. Should be water tested with whole system by the weekend, after we make trip to get live sand and live rock. Also hanging the light is a to do as well.

Update: finished the sump with dividers and locked in the filter socks. Did a water test on full system and slight leak by 3 bulk heads...fixed with some silicone should solve the problem. Overall the flow from the 1260 is about right, I wish it was more but maybe because I'm using a T 3 way PVC instead of a Y 3 way PVC ?!?... Any input guys?

Photos will be up tomorrow.

I would suggest getting a soft rubber gasket and using a azorblade to get the glass as clean as possible. Thn use a glass primer then use the new rubber gaskets for a leak oroff seal.

iSAF I thought about it but can't it goes into the load barring piece.

Update pics tmrw the tank is currently cycling I bought rock and sand and its rocking love it.

Okay sorry for the delay in photos had some minor problems.

First I fixed the leak around the bulkhead works great. Next, I had to glue on the bulkhead covers which in these photos the glue is setting. I finally got LR and LS and got the tank up and running and cycling as we speak, pretty damn excited.
I love the way the tank has been flowing , great flow ( could be a slight better ) and overall its pretty quiet except a slight gargle that I hope the cover will fix. The gargle came from one overflow being slightly higher then expected, but il fix it.
Overall, Im in love with the set up cant wait for the light to get here, had to go with a longer light. Also, ive been checking the parameters of the ph, nitrites, and nitrates, just waiting for the spike. The ph is just a touch low at about 8.0. Going back to Chicago for about 5 days and after that by mid month cycle should be done.

Dont mind the salinity in that picture it stays around 1.024. Also , I believe the filter socks have that gross orange color from the foam from the sand first being in the tank.

36" Led light will be here next week, then the hanging of that starts. By that time cycling should be about done, and the fun will begin.

I got 20lbs of sand, I wanted deep sand bed as for Im getting a goby/shrimp pair. You dont need a light to cycle, plus I had got the wrong size light, so im waiting impatiently.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Update on Tank: Well im currently in Chicago on leave, loving every minute. The light will be hung this week and if the parameters check out cycle should be about done early next week, hopefully first fish and LPS.
