looking to install a fresh air intake on my skimmer, trying to get my ph swing more stable, the ph swing is effecting the ph in my calcium reactor. wondering if anybody has any luck with the use of a fresh air intake.
thanks

I've been doing it for years. I have a 1 1/2" line that runs through my attic to a vent for fresh air. It helps, somewhat. I haven't found it to be a miracle cure.

You'll notice pH swings in your calc reactor because if you have a home that is sealed well, like ours, and the fact that at night bio-activity decreases, your pH will drop. Your calc reactors pH will also drop somewhat. Then during the day when the lights are on and bio-activity is high, your pH is up which raises the pH in your calc reactor.

To help stabilize the pH through the night, and you can't have windows open, I dose kalk at various intervals and run my ATS.

thanks for the reply, i run my kalk reactor at night only, during the day, the feed pump is off, i was wondering how much of an effect it would have , if it just a tiny bit, not worth doing it, my ph is not low, its just swings around enough to mess up a carx settings.

Your calcium reactor should be running continuously. My fresh air intake has little effect on PH.

How much PH swing do you have within 24 hours?

depends, usally it hovers around 8.2 ish, open the window its goes 8.4 plus easy, when there are more people over it has dropped under 8, especially with the ac on. reactor is running all the time.

geo reactor
master flex pump
custume ss dual stage reg

Sounds about right for me. A bunch a people in your sealed home will definitely drive the pH down.

You are golden. Don't waste your time and money and make a hole in the house. I wish my PH was that high.
