Fresh Water dipping clowns

I'm preparing to move my two true perc clowns from my 55g to my 24g nano. I was thinking about doing a fresh water dip to remove any potential parasites and avoid bringing anything into my new tank. I don't have any suspicions about any certain types of parasites I'm just thinking of being cautious just in case there may be some. What do I need to do to correctly dip my clowns? Any certain specific gravity? Any certain PH? How long do I dip them? Could I use normal top off water? Distilled or treated tap?

Honestly I wouldn't dip them at all unless you are sure that they have parasites. In which case fresh water dips would be a weekly treatment. If you still want to do it Ro water would be fine run an air line into it and watch the fish closely if they are bobbing up and down at the top of the water they need more air. I wouldn't do it for longer than an hour.

I would call it very unnecessary and more stressful than needed. But if you choose to do it, RODI water is fine and it must be at the same temperature. Also IMHO I wouldn't go longer than 15 minutes. I don't see why you would do it if nothing is wrong though
