Freshwater Dip Kill Red Bugs?

Will a freshwater dip kill red bugs and not the acro they are on? I need a temporary solution because I can't get interceptor for a while.

There is a better chance the coral will die and the red bugs will make it. You need to treat the entire volume of water not just the corals.

Freshwater will not kill red bugs. Lugols will not kill red bugs. Revive will not kill red bugs.

Interceptor will.

You do not need to treat the entire system necessarily either. If you are buying a new piece that has red bugs, treating it in a QT or at least dipping it will work.

If you already have placed the piece into your display, then yes, you would need to do a full tank treatment.

Call a vet and tell them what you are using it for. Be honest. It took me about five vets before I found one willing to prescribe an "off-label use" prescription. Now whenever I need interceptor, I just go there and tell them it is for my tank. No questions asked, they just print an off-label use sticker and away I go.

flatworm exit works great wonders.but remember flatworm fluid is toxic to many flatworks dieing at one time can cause problems maybe a fish to die.You can find it at most places for about $15.00 and you don't have to beg a vet for it either

flatworm exit does nothing for red bugs. Please don't spread mistruths.

Just throw the coral away if you plan to freshwater dip, NO BUENO!! for SPS

REVIVE,TMPCC for AEFW
Interceptor for Red Bugs

I've actually read where people freshwater dipped SPS and they lived. Unfortunately, the red bugs did too. They are resilliant little SOBs.
