Freshwater molly acclimation process questions?

Hi all,

I think my tank is ready for fish, and I've always wanted to convert freshwater mollies to saltwater for the algae control. My question is how long should the acclimation process take from full freshwater to salt? Several hours, days?

Thanks

I got three just for extra live food treats once a month for my cardinal fish since the mollies are live bearers (I already have had about 25 babies so far from them.) I personally think they look awkward in a saltwater tank and are nowhere near as beautiful as many reef fish so I put mine in my sump. It took only about 24 hours to acclimate mine. I was watching them every hour or so to check for signs of stress and was prepared to acclimate them for about a week, but they were perfectly fine, even eating during acclimation. They are very hardy fish. I just drip acclimated mine until they were at about 1.023 and put them in. My advice is to take it slow and keep an eye on them. If they seem stressed or anxious at all then slow it down, but they should be able to otherwise make in about 24 hours.
