My hood got really humid because my fan went out. One of my pc endcaps fried and melted. I ordered new endcaps off ebay and they are different from my current endcaps, my current ones have 2 wires 1 red 1 yellow. the new endcaps have 4 leads two black two white. I tried putting the new endcaps on and i cant get the bulbs to light. Do you think my ballast went out when the endcap did or did i wire somthing wrong.

Not sure what is going on with your problem. But I recently had one of my VHO endcaps get a little moisture in it and fry. It has unfortantly fried my balast and needs to be replaced. So it is possible that it has damaged your balast. My balast had wiring specifications, which I used to replace the endcaps. Not sure if your has the same thing.

p.s. my ballast is a hamilton electronc balast for 2x95watt VHO's and only the one VHO that had the faulty endcap has stoped working....I am quite positive it is the ballast after lots of trouble shooting.
