Friend or Foe? Birdsnest frilly growth

This has been growing out of the tip of this frag ever since I got it. But I have seen no pics online of anything like it. So is it a part of the coral? or is it an algae type zoomer that has embedded itself in my frag?

IMO, it looks like a type of hydroid.

Algae, cut it off.

Yes some tiny part of the BN died and algae has grown there.

I do see some algae on the end, but I also see hydroids. I'm guessing he was asking about the clear strands with the polyps on the ends.
