I have two QT going and I put in Fritz Turbo 900 yesterday because my nitrites were a little high - it's a new QT and has fish in it, looks like it had not cycled 100% yet. Anyway, I put in the Turbo 900 and my nitrites shot through the roof, I know have 1.0 when I had .25 yesterday.
I'm afraid of loosing fish.
Any thoughts as to why the Fritz would cause such a huge spike? When I spoke to them yesterday they said it was fully safe to put in and should be fine, even with fish in the tank, etc.
I am using API's Nitrite test kit.
