Frog Spawn Fragging?

ok so I have a frogspwan with like 7+ heads on it, but heres the thing, when I pick the colony up and try to feel the base of the head it is hard but the outside is not hard like rock, it seems like its fleshy. I dunno its kinda hard to say. But what I am trying to ask is is it possible to frag it in this state? its been like this for a year now.....

How big are the heads you want to fragg off? If the stony part is about the size of the last segment on your index finger? If it is then it will probably be fine on its own, just use a sharp chisel to split the heads off

Try to wait until you have a definate "hard" place to cut and avoid cutting the fleshy part if you can. Side cutting pliers or pruning shears work very well.

You don't want to cut into any fleshy tissue. I'd recommend waiting until there's enough skeleton to have at least 1/2" of hard skeleton before fragging a euphyllia. Any less and it's difficult to mount the frag.

Also, I use a dremel to cut the skeleton. Even if you can't get all the way through a partial cut will allow you to snap off the head. IMO using other cutters there's a risk the skeleton will crack lengthwise. The frag can survive but it adds a lot of unnecessary stress.
