It is time for a refresh.

I have all my equipment located in a storage room in the basement. Its the only room in the house my wife will leave me alone. My display tanks are starting to be over loaded. The main filtration system has been added on and the frag system needs to be upgraded.

So before the new tank arrives I thought it best to actually finish the room the best I could without breaking the bank.

I will post some old pics of the room and the current progress before the new tank arrives for even more grow out.

Here is the room several years ago.

The shallow cube tank is being replaced. Which is what made my decision to redo the room.
Here is what its shaping up to as of this morning

The 67 gallon cube is being replaced with a 225.

thanks for the comments.

The floors is getting close to being done.
The next task is the stand.
I need to do a little research to see if I can get away with only the outside legs on a 6x3x20" tank. Rather not have center legs. I would assume the top part would have to be 2x8's and 2additional joist running the short side.

Any input is appreciated

Have you considered steel. I could see how you could do that with steel if you used 2X4 3/16 rectangle tubing. I have done that with a previous tank.

Never really thought of steel. The "diy" in me always says build it yourself.
Also only cost around 100. No clue about cost with steel.

Cost of the steel would be like 150-200. I have a friend that is a welder so that part was free or almost free (bottle of crown). Another buddy had one welded up and the guy charged him like 200.

I ended up building the stand over the weekend. I went with 2x6'x. I still don't want a front center leg so I think by doubling up the front 2x6 with screws and glue I think should be fine with this only being a 20" tall tank.

The new tank is in place. Still lots of work to do. Painting, organizing and transferring equipment and stock.

Moving along quickly. And i did the same thing as far as unions under plugs on the floor with my temp holding tank. I also like how you mounted your controllers for your pumps.
So whats the plan or idea for the scape?

Finally started working on the scaping. Going to start on making a rockwall first. Just started making one using glass panels siliconed pukani. I'll take some pics as I go.
