Frogspawn and Flow

I recently upped the flow in my tank by adding a WP 25. It is running on S3 (50% max flow) W1 with a middle of the road frequency. Everyone in the tank seemed perturbed but has opened back up and the fish are more active now.... except the Frogspawn. It used to open to a huge billowing size with the flow from just a korelia nearby, but now it only reaches about half that. Still "fully open" but just not quite as big. Will it take longer or is it just not a huge fan of the wave motion?

I might open up given time, but they're not really a big fan of the stronger currents. That tissue that they have is very delicate, and if you expose the coral to a lot of chaotic flow it could rip the tissue or damage it against the skeleton. GL.

^ Agree. The polyps ideally should be gently rippling- not constantly being pushed to one side.

So I have a bit of an update, since I personally hate when these threads go unresolved when I am searching around the forums.

The three heads have opened up much more, not quite as wide as they were prior to the flow addition, but they seem to just be taking their time in getting there. It is set on wave maker so they are going back and forth not just to one side. I may move the power head up the glass a little to give them some more space if I need to.

Great to hear. Agree 100% on unresolved threads. Alternating adjustable flow like you get with a wave maker is ideal or gyre pumps is ideal for corals with long(er) polyps.
