I purchased 2 colonies of frogspawn attached to the same piece of tonga branch maybe a month ago. My question is.. One of them has turned alot brighter then the other. the green is brighter but the pink tips are almost white. I dont know if thats a bad sign or not. Any input is appreciated.

attached is the pic.... the one on the left is what they both used to look like. Sorry for quality my gfs phone is a piece.

tough to see in the picture but very often they will be different colors when recessed which is what i see in your picture i think .

Yea? I hope tomorrow when I take a look they expand. I may be a bit paranoid about it. The sps is looking better then ever... With an exception to the diatom outbreak (due to adding new sand) nothing seems to be different. I thought it was a form of algae until the forums pointed out the diatom aspect.

hmmm, that doesn't look brighter as much as bleached, I think it might be getting too much light. imo it would do well on the sandbed maybe in the shade for a little bit, if it's bleached I'd get it there asap since they can stress out pretty fast, can you get better pics?

hmm, yea I will move it there asap. I have 400w MH's. Its just strange that it would be fine for several weeks and just now stress out. But hey, thats the nature of the beast I guess

So here are some more pics. As of today they are both bleached. I ran params and all are fine. Any ideas??

Most likely they got hit with too much light, if you put them in a kind of shaded area like under an overhang they should bounce back though :)

Did you have a battery operated pump in your tank during the power issue? 8 hours is a long time, long enough to stress them out. How do all your other corals look, from your pic I don't see much at all. How often do you do water changes?

No battery powered.. Always doing water changes. I do about 5 gal 3 times a week. I did move them to the side of the tank in the sand.. we ll see what happens.. The sps looks fine. It has been in the sand for a week now, and I am going to move it up higher.
