Frogspawn/clownfish?

I recently saw a really cool thing at an LFS. A gigantic purple-tip frospawn (almost size of a basketball), hosting 2 black occelaris. The combination was amazing! The frogspawn did not seem negatively effected. The clowns would dive in and out and as you can imagine the frogspawn provided a much better cover than any anemone.

My question is, is this a common occurence? I'm sure it probably doesn't happen in the ocean, but given no anemone to host, is it likely that black occelaris will host in a frogspawn? I would like to try this combo.

My false perculas host in a very very large green with pink tip frogspawn. It's very cool. I don't want to have an anemone in the tank they're in so it works well for me....all the behaviour without the headache of an anemone!

my percs love their froggy they will go into most lps they like open brain, big clams, hammers.
works well when you dont have an anemone or dont want one

Cool! What kind of lighting do you need for the froggy? I have 48" Coralife Lunar Aqualight

(260W Total) 4X65W 4 Blue Moon Glow LED Lights

Is that enough? My clowns are liking te top part of the tank. I think my tang is pressuring them.....

Thanks,
Deb

get the tang out of the 72 gallon tank that is way to small for a tang it will attack an kill other fish you put in the tank

how many heads is your frogspawn, loks big enough I was just wondering how many heads and how you take care of it....does anyone know if they need really strong lighting?

they need medium lighting as its called mine was two heads and is now 8 or 9
it is big enough but my clowns are miniature they are 1 inch clowns

Awesome guys. Looks like I have a good chance of getting one to host... It's definitely less hassle than a BTA (I used to have one), and looks better too. I'll just have to wait till my purple-tip grows a bit larger.

Thanks for the info!
