Frogspawn/Hammer coral... hybrid?

Can it hybrid? Is this a froghammer coral? Hammerspawn coral? Or is it really a hammer coral like I was told when I bought it a while back?

I've got one like that...except maybe it has a little more fluorescent green color. Some tips look like frogspawn, some like hammer.

It was labelled as a hammer when I bought it.

It's under a multichip LED so it doesn't look bright at all. It gets very washed out since the light is so bright.

I often wonder about this coral. It's not like other hammer coral I've seen, or even the other one in my tank.

I had a green species that looked exactly like this. It was sold to be as a euyphilia. The hammers at the ends of the coral ended up getting pretty big and looked awesome. Does yours have any blue shimmer on the ends, mine had a slight iridescence

I've got a bicolor "hammer" that looks like that! It's one of my favorites. Perhaps there are more species of euphylia... I was thinking the exact same thing you were, because in some places it looks like a hammer and in other spots it looks like a frogspawn. It seems to be the fastest growing LPS in my tank, too (other than my candy canes). I started with 3 heads and now there are 6 and some babies around the edges...? I don't know, but looks great to me!

I love it! It's really taking off. Bought it as two heads, and it's now got at least 8 mouths and is separating into new heads all over the place. The photos color is washed out, but it's very pretty, no iridescence though.

i have a euphyllia that appears to be a hammer/torch looking combo. so i would agree that there are more species out there than commonly credited
