Frogspawn help

I have (or had) a 15 head frogspawn. It's been in the tank for about 2 weeks.
I noticed on of the heads was not extending and there was a milky colored mucous like mass right in the center of the head.
After the lights went out and all of the other heads receded, I got a turkey baster and attempted to suck the white part off to see what it was...well the whole head literally came apart and was sucked up. It was barely holding together. The other heads look fine right now. No bugs or other critters that I can see right now.
Lighting should be ok...have a Kessil A150W over the tank and all of the other heads look pretty good.
Temp is a steady 78
No NO4, NO3 and very little NO2
No PO4
No direct flow on the heads.

Waiting on the test kit for MG, CA, etc.

Any idea why in 2 days one of the heads just practically melted away??

Alk is at what? And I'm assuming it's placed on the sandbed.

It was to begin with but would never open. Moved up some and it opened a little. Moved up more and finally got full extension....should I place down in sand again and just let it stay and adjust?

I would keep it where it looks happy, and just keep monitoring it. Watch what you other critters are doing, maybe something was nipping at that head for some reason. Also definitely check your parameters ......blah blah blah lol!

So far it seems happy higher up, but it's not looking "right" at the moment. Extension definitely not as full as the past couple of days.
Going to do a partial water change today after I pick up some RO/Di to mix.

Did a KH test a bit ago...8-9 drops. Silly API test. So, KH around 152 (give or take).

Until I get my proper test kit in, will have to rely on LFS for test results. Will take a water sample with me today.

I use an API kit for my KH, and mine is usuall 8-9 as well. The kit sucks for exact accuracy, but so far it seems to keep me in the "happy zone."

My Frogspawn isn't much of a fan flow at all, just a really gentle current is what mine likes. If ot gets too turbulent it shrinks quite a bit. Just a thought. It could just be getting used to your lighting as well. If it continues to stay shrunken up try putting it in a shady area.

OK, had the LFS run a quick test:
DKH:7.6 (low)
CA: 470
MG: 1600
Ammonia: a little high
NO3: 0
NO2: 10ppm
P04: less than .25

Did a water change and adjusted flow in the tank late yesterday. Much better looking today. In fact, with the polyp extension, the other heads completely cover the head that died.
Still going to keep a close eye on it and debating if a dip should even be required right now.
