Frogspawn help

This head of frogspawn has been in my tank for about 18 hours now. I picked it up from a local reefer for $20; while it was two heads at first he used a power saw to split the heads in half and sell me one.

It looks a little flat to me, but then again I don't know exactly what it's supposed to look like. What should I be looking for in a healthy frogspawn? How long do they take to acclimate to a new tank? What are some signs it's not very happy?

Sorry for all the noob questions...

I just bought a Hammer yesterday myself about 26 hours ago and it is just about opening up. It will depend on the water flow in it's location(med flow and not directly in front of a powerhead), and your lights. Start it out on the sand bed and every few days raise it a little higher till both you and the coral are happy. A happy healthy Frogspawn/Hammer will have full tentacles that are not stringy or shriveled looking. Google some pics and you will see what I mean.

It looks fine. Frogspawn will retract when acclimating or sometimes even during big water changes. Just wait a few days. As long as your water conditions are decent, you won't have any problems. It's a very good looking specimen too by the way, I'm jealous.

Thanks for the advice! After researching I noticed not very many pictures of frogspawn had the same coloration as mine so I guessed I lucked out.

If you're anywhere near central California I can hook you up with the guy who sold it to me. He had lots of unique looking specimens I haven't seen elsewhere. I told him I will be getting back to him once I start stocking my 28 nano cube.

Just wanted to post an update pic. Just a few days now and the frogspawn seems to be inflating/extending and seems much happier.
