Hello, I am thinking about getting a frogspawn for my 12 gallon aquapod.

It is a reef only and has no fish in it at all.

the conditions are pretty much perfect but I was wondering what information i should know about the Frogspawn.

What food is best for it.

I have low to moderate flow in the tank with 52watts of power compact for the 12 gallon tank. ( I know watts isn't the way to measure, but you get the idea)

thanks for any info you can give me about them!

They are pretty hardy corals as long as there is nothing in the tank bothering them. Your lighting and water flow seem fine for frogspawn. Since you have no fish I am assuming you are not feeding anything in your tank so you should feed the frogspawn about once or twice a week (since the tank is only a 12 gal). Cyclopeeze and Mysis shrimp work good. Other invert foods and additives also work good (microvert, coral accel, Phytoplex, etc). Just remember that in a small tank you dont want to over do it. Maintain good water quality and calcium levels and you will do fine.

I give mine a little piece of silver side or mysis. I kinda stuff the food gently towards the mouth till it holds onto it. Mine get some good flow and i have to watch so the Cleaner shrimp doesn't steel it as he is a slow eater.

my wifes tank is the 12g aquapod and the show piece in her tank is a 8-10 head frogspawn. it is set about halfway in the tank and has been doing great. just keep up on water changes and make sure your levels are good and u will have no problems. it will grow like crazy!
